Teak seems to be gaining quite a bit of a following with our clients. We recently completed a few projects using this unique timber, and after seeing the finished installations I can see why it is becoming such a popular choice.

When most people think of Teak, they generally think of maritime applications such as boat floors and paneling. Many also consider it a traditional type of floor with a rustic, slightly antiquated look. And while this wood is perfectly at home in both a rustic and maritime setting, it also provides a great starting point for more contemporary interior designs.

Case in point: this recently completed contemporary project (photos below). The incredibly uniform and rich, flowing grain pattern in this floor makes a perfect base for the clean, sharp lines of this modern interior approach. You’ll notice it also makes a great paneling choice!

What do you think? I’d love to hear your opinion. Drop me a line with your thoughts.
